Every player and anyone who has ever seen a roulette table knows that there are two main colours: red and black. But there is one more exception: one or two sectors on the wheel are green, this is the so-called “zero sector of Roulette”. In European (French) roulette, it is marked with the symbol “0”. Many superstitions, mystical secrets and riddles are associated with this sector. The reason for this attitude towards the sector is the many derivatives of the word “zero” in the languages of European countries. They interpret “zero” as a mathematical “zero”, as “emptiness”, “the beginning of the countdown”, “a new start”, “starting point”, “the beginning or end of something”. And a radical change in fate is called “zero point”. This attitude is transferred to the “zero” sector as well. Therefore, the player’s reaction to him is different.
It should be noted that zero in roulette was not always used in casinos. It appeared only in the 17th century, although the prototype of Roulette itself, or “wheel” in Italian, appeared much earlier.
